Query

John wants me to ask this question out loud, he is the creator of the question, and we should all be asking it. Given Jim Gilmore and Tom Davis's front page rejection of the CRF aka abusive driver fees, do they then support an increase in taxes to fund transportation needs, specifically a .10 cent gas tax since that is what the CRFs were trying to avoid?

Ha! I'd love for Mr. No More Car Tax Gilmore to take that position. It's more likely he'll come out and advocate stripping more poor people of their money in some other way -- maybe another attack on welfare recipients -- in order to fund this hideous transportation bill.

Sad, but true with respect to the Gilmore disdain of poor people. The logic may follow though to support drivers to actually pay for transportation...shocking, I know.

You support infrastructure needs in one way. Taxes. Taxes on everyone. Not on segments of citizens. That's how we pay for schools, for fire protection needs, for water & sewer needs. Why is transportation any different? No one wants to be taxed out the wazzoo (sp?), but some things are just necessary. Now, we could do without a little war, and a little corporate subsidies....
