I have the privilege of serving on a board w/ Neal, news director for NBC29. As much as I loathe the negative ad put out by Perriello's opponent, I recognize it is not the media's problem, it is the opponent. Dont call Neal and yell at him, feel free to watch channel 29 just remember to VOTE and remember to VOTE for Perriello on November 4th! Seriously, Neal isnt the problem, the guy who put the ad up is and if you are angry about it, VOLUNTEER/DONATE and tell your friends in Pittsylvania County (which has a huge population) to VOTE for Tom Perriello.
One thing about Tom I like- the guy is more Virginia than most people I know. I went to high school with him here in what was rural western Albemarle County (before Old Trail and Master Planning Crozet). His father is a doctor and runs a business here in Charlottesville (that employs a lot of people and cares for many of our children).
BTW- having a license to practice law that is in NY does not make one a NY lawyer, in Perriello's case it makes him a lawyer who works internationally against people who are complicit in genocide and terrorism cases. Something I think the incumbent forgot to put in his commercial (among the many other misleading statements in the commercial, the incumbent doesnt rely on truth, or even think the voters deserve it for that matter).What I despise about politics is what the current congressman does- distorts and misinforms. The incumbent does that- he appeals to the worst from people.
Perriello is different in so many ways- but an important difference is his expectation on the best in people.

What does Perriello think about the pollution, alternative fuels, gas milage regulations, roads, water, growth, drilling for oil in the US??- WAHS student
And what about Health care. For example: prescription drug benefits, health care for low income families, and medicine...
Ohh, and what is Perriello going to do about Social issues. Like: Abortion, affirmative action, or the death penalty, gay marriage, gun control, or poverty?
A couple more questions... What does Perriello planning on dealing w/ budget/economics, Crime, Education, Foreign Policys

Interesting questions, especially since Goode never wants to talk about the issues. I recommend directing these questions directly to the Perriello campaign.
Specifically w/ respect to drilling, he thinks we should drill, but he recognizes it is not a long-term or even short term solution and we must invest in alternative sources of energy.
I will answer the rest of the questions I know the answers to:
He is a second amendment person, he grew up in the country- he doesnt think the second amendment is any less important than the other amendments.
Finally, Perriello uses his own good judgment, not those of lobbyists (and he certainly wouldnt cancel an important televised debate so he could attend a fundraiser). Perriello's judgment which includes a significant faith based value system is genuine- he will listen, learn and decide on important issues (instead of what Goode does- vote w/ the party AND/OR w/ his lobbyist friends- who occasionally land in jail).

Why doesn't Perriello make comments on where he stands on abortion and gay marriage? No stand means that he is FOR it as far as I am concerned and if that is true I will not vote for him. I believe he has skirted these very controversial issues!!
